Internships

The Thomas More Institute seeks to appoint, subject to appropriate funding packages being available, to one or more internships for the ten-month period September to June each year. Candidates should be recent graduates with good honours degrees, in fact or in immediate prospect. Only those should apply whose written and spoken English are completely fluent. Suitable applicants will be sociable and highly articulate. They will have a developed interest in, and a considered ethical outlook on, key issues in current affairs.

Those offered positions will be expected to work with the Director in running and further developing a number of the Institute’s regular and occasional activities. They will need to be computer-literate and capable of administering the Institute’s website, writing up a regular ‘blog’, etc. Each individual appointed will undertake a research project related to one of the Institute’s key fields of interest, supervised either internally or by a qualified person in post at some other academic institution or think-tank, and of a quality suitable for publishing.  At times, depending on the qualifications and interests of applicants, the Institute may be able to offer joint-placements, i.e., positions shared with other academic and/or policy research bodies based in London. Applicants whose plans do not permit their committing themselves for the full ten-month period desired, but only for a substantial proportion of it, may also be considered, depending on the needs of the Institute.

If interested, please send the Director, Dr. Andrew Hegarty, a curriculum vitae (with contact details of two referees) and a covering letter outlining interests and experience (including evidence of linguistic and IT competence) in electronic form to the address: ajh@ThomasMoreInstitute.org.uk or by post to:
