TMI Seminar – Dr. Gudrun Kugler – What’s Wrong with the West? Intolerance against Christians – and a Scanty Response

Wednesday 16 January 2013

The speaker has documented over 800 cases on intolerance and discrimination against Christians over the past six years. She has spoken about the topic at the European Commission, the European Parliament, the OSCE, the Fundamental Rights Agency, and many other institutions. Such intolerance is on the increase in Europe , and Christian responses are far from whole-hearted. What should be said and done? What are the key problems in the UK and in the rest of Europe ? Where is all this leading?

Dr. Kugler studied Law, Women’s Studies and the Theology of Marriage and the Family. Her doctorate is in International Law. In 2005 she co-founded in Vienna Kairos Consulting for Non-Profit Initiatives. Since September 2008 she has been adjunct professor at the International Theological Institute for Studies on Marriage and the Family. She runs the European Observatory on Intolerance and Discrimination Against Christians. From 2010 to 2012 she belonged to the FRP Advisory Panel of the EU Fundamental Rights Agency. She remains actively involved at the Organisation for Security and Co-operation in Europe (OSCE).
